Objective To summarize the best available evidence for oral health management in older adults with diabetes melli-tus and provide a reference for clinical practice.Methods Evidence regarding oral health management in older adults with diabetes mellitus was systematically retrieved using a top-down approach based on the"6S"evidence-based resources model from relevant in-ternational and domestic databases,guideline repositories,and professional websites.The included document types were clinical prac-tice guidelines,systematic reviews,evidence summaries,and expert consensus statements.The search was conducted from database inception to December 30,2025.Four researchers trained in evidence-based nursing independently assessed guideline quality,while two researchers independently evaluated,extracted,and synthesized evidence from the remaining literature.Results Twenty-four documents were initially retrieved.After quality assessment,one was excluded,yielding 23 final inclusions:10 clinical guidelines,6 systematic reviews,5 meta-analyses,and 2 expert consensus statements.A total of 29 pieces of evidence were identified across seven domains:oral assessment,oral care,oral treatment,surgical intervention,multidisciplinary collaboration,medication management,and health education.Conclusion Clinical healthcare providers should prioritize oral health management in older adults with diabetes mellitus,strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration,and implement early screening and intervention for oral pathologies,thereby im-proving the precision and effectiveness of oral health management.
