Guizhencao has a long medicinal history and has the effects of clearing heat and removing toxicity,dispelling wind and eliminating dampness,and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.It is widely used for various diseases.In order to standardize Guizhencao's clinical medication,the writer systematically verified its name,family and genus,efficacy and indication,property and flavor,and collection and processing by looking up ancient herbal books,medical classics,and modern and contemporary literature materials.Research has found that in most historical literatures,Guizhencao is used as its proper name,and its naming is mostly derived from its plant morphology.The family and genus used in ancient times was the plant Bidens pilosa L of the Compositae family,while plants such as B.bipinnata L.and B.biternata(Lour.)Merr.et Sherf that have the same genus were added in modern times.ts whole plants or above-ground parts can be used as medicinal herbs and can be collected in summer and autumn,and the main processing methods are cleaning and slicing.This paper clarifies the medicinal history and current application status of Guizhencao by sorting out the Chinese Materia Medica of all dynasties and medical books and classics,which provides a theoretical basis for further research and development of Guizhencao.
