Research Progress on the Regulation of Poultry and Livestock Muscle Growth and Quality by RNA Alternative Splicing
RNA可变剪接(Alternative Splicing,AS)是指在一系列RNA结合蛋白(RNA-binding protein,RBP)的引导下,利用剪接体重排前体mRNA的内含子和外显子,形成多种转录本.AS是动植物体内重要的转录后调控机制之一,广泛调节包括肌肉生长发育在内的诸多生理过程.该文将对畜禽肌肉生长发育及肉质形成过程中的AS事件进行综述,旨在为提升我国畜禽肌肉生长及品质竞争力提供研究参考.
RNA alternative splicing(AS)refers to the rearrangement of introns and exons in pre-mRNA by the spliceosome under the guidance of a series of RNA-binding proteins(RBPs),generating multiple transcripts.As one of the important post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in animals and plants,AS extensively regulates various physiological processes including muscle growth and development.This re-view summarizes AS events during livestock and poultry muscle growth,development and meat quality formation,aiming to provide research references for improving growth performance and meat quality com-petitiveness of livestock and poultry in China.
