An Analysis of the Impact of AI on Labor and Employment from the Perspective of Combining Demand and Supply:Also on Whether AI Constitutes"Labor"
人工智能对劳动及劳动价值理论的影响一直是当今学术界的热门问题之一.其中,人工智能是否构成劳动及其对劳动概念的冲击,是许多学术争论的元问题.研究认为,即便从供给侧角度看,人工智能依然不能构成劳动,因其与"人"紧密相关.从需求角度看,作为生产要素投入的劳动要与工资进而与劳动者的消费对应,人工智能不构成劳动的结论更为清晰.以此为基准,从需求与供给结合角度看,人工智能与劳动的复杂关系,通过需求制约而产生人工智能动态收敛效应,对人工智能的应用程度形成抑制作用;从动态角度看,人工智能对劳动与就业的影响,通过新职业的不断产生而使其与之前时代的技术与机器的影响更为类似.这些结论,对科学看待人工智能时代的劳动、劳动价值理论、就业及宏观经济变化具有很强的启示意义.
The impact of artificial intelligence(AI)on labor and the labor theory of value has long been a hot topic in contemporary academia.Among the various issues,whether AI constitutes labor and how it challenges the very concept of labor is the meta-question underlying many academic debates.This study argues that even from the supply-side perspective,AI still cannot constitute labor because it is closely related to"human beings".From the demand perspective,labor as a factor of production must correspond to wages and thus to workers' consumption,making the conclusion that AI does not constitute labor clearer.Thus,from the combined perspective of demand and supply,the complex relationship between AI and labor,through demand constraints,generates a dynamic convergence effect of AI,which inhibits the degree of AI application.From a dynamic perspective,the impact of AI on labor and employment is more similar to that of technologies and machines in previous eras due to the continuous emergence of new occupations.These conclusions have strong implications for our scientific understanding of labor,labor value theory,employment,and macroeconomic changes in the era of AI.
