Study on growth and reproductive characteristics of Odontobutis sinensis in the Li River,a tributary of the Hanjiang River

为探究汉江支流浰河中华沙塘鳢(Odontobutis sinensis)的生长与繁殖特性,本研究于 2023 年 7 月-2024 年 9月逐月收集中华沙塘鳢样本 510 尾,分析其年龄结构、生长特征、性腺成熟度、性腺指数(GSI)及繁殖力等生物学特征.结果显示,该水域中华沙塘鳢的体长为 4.96~15.43 cm,体质量为 2.65~83.15 g.年龄结构为 1~4 龄,高龄个体较少.体长与体质量的关系式为 W=0.034 3L2.826 0(R2=0.930 6),呈等速生长模式.绝对繁殖力(FA)为(1 267±559)粒,相对体长繁殖力(FL)为(125±43)粒/cm,相对体质量繁殖力(FW)为(75±20)粒/g.周年 GSI 分析表明,浰河中华沙塘鳢 GSI 峰值呈现雌雄性腺发育不同步模式:雌性 GSI 峰值出现在 3 月,而雄性则滞后至 4月.形态学观察显示,4 月末护巢期雄性精巢后端贮精囊呈现显著膨大状态.结合雄性护巢的特性,推测中华沙塘鳢 GSI 峰值的雌雄性腺发育不同步与雄性护巢期贮精囊膨大有关.研究结果可为浰河中华沙塘鳢的资源保护提供科学依据,并为提高其人工繁殖孵化率提供重要线索.

To investigate the growth and reproductive characteristics of Odontobutis sinensis in the Li River,a tributary of the Hanjiang River,510 specimens were collected monthly from July 2023 to September 2024.Bio-logical characteristics,including age structure,growth traits,gonadal maturity,gonadosomatic index(GSI),and fecundity,were analyzed.The results showed that the body length of O.sinensis in this waterbody ranged from 4.96 cm to 15.43 cm,and body mass ranged from 2.65 g to 83.15 g.The age structure comprised 1 to 4-year-old individuals,with older fish being scarce.The length-mass relationship was W=0.034 3L2.826 0(R2=0.930 6),an isometric growth pattern.Absolute fecundity(FA)averaged(1 267±559)eggs,while relative fe-cundity by length(FL)was(125±43)eggs/cm,and relative fecundity by weight(FW)was(75±20)eggs/g.A-nalysis of the annual GSI revealed a relatively uncommon asynchronous pattern of gonadal development be-tween sexes:the GSI peaked in March for females,whereas it was delayed until April for males.Morphological observations showed a significant enlargement of the seminal vesicles at the posterior end of the testes in nest-guarding males in late April.It is speculated that this asynchronous gonadal development,along with the enlarge-ment of seminal vesicles,is associated with the male's nest-guarding behavior.These findings provide a scien-tific basis for the conservation of O.sinensis resources in the Li River,and offer important insights for enhancing its artificial breeding and hatching success.
