This paper summarizes Professor YUAN Xiaofeng's experience in treating childhood narco-lepsy from the perspective of wind-phlegm.Professor YUAN believes that the primary pathological factors of this disease are wind and phlegm.The pathogenesis involves excessive accumulation of turbid phlegm,which is mobilized by wind.The wind carrying the phlegm ascends to confuse the upper orifices(clear orifices).The dis-ease is located in the spleen and liver,with the mechanism being spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity,leading to the upward disturbance of wind-phlegm.The treatment principle focuses on invigorating the spleen,soothing the liver,dispelling wind,and resolving phlegm.His medication characteristics include the adept use of warm-natured herbs to warm and resolve phlegm pathogens,as well as protecting liver-yin and regulating the qi movement.One case is attached for verification.
