The IP68 waterproof test,as the highest certification level in the field of dust and water resistance for electronic devices,has sparked numerous controversies and discussions in recent years in the consumer and industrial electronics sectors,including smartphones,smartwatches,and industrial equipment.On the one hand,manufacturers vigorously promote the IP68 certification as a core selling point of high-end products;on the other hand,the water immersion environment in actual use differs significantly from that in the process of IP68 tests.These issues reflect the disconnection between the current IP68 testing standards and real application scenarios,and also expose systemic problems in the industry regarding technical verification.This paper will analyze the technical requirements and practical controversies of the IP68 testing standards,compare the differences between laboratory conditions and actual application scenarios,and explore the improvement paths of testing methods and trends of technological innovation.It aims to provide a comprehensive perspective for relevant enterprises and consumers,and offer certain references for testing laboratories dedicated to ensuring product quality and safety.
