Given its unique location at the intersection of the"Belt and Road Initiative"and the Yangtze River Economic Belt,Chongqing can better fulfill the role of its railway hub in connecting east and west,linking north and south,and providing access to inland waterways and maritime routes.By analyzing the current status of the Chongqing Railway Hub's external passenger and freight corridors,this study identified issues such as the relatively low technical standards of key high speed railway corridors and the inability of some completed freight railways to fully perform their intended functions.Considering factors such as railway network planning and urban master planning,this study proposed the planning and construction schemes for passenger transport corridors,including the Beibeinan-Chongqingxi Section Project,the Jiulongpo-Chongqingdong Direct Line,the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High Speed Railway(Chongqingbei-Changshoubei Section),and the Suining-Chongqing Intercity Railway,as well as planning and construction schemes for freight corridors such as the China Railway Express,the New Western Land-Sea Corridor,and the Yangtze River Freight Corridor.These initiatives address the shortcomings of the hub's external corridors,ensure seamless connectivity,and enhance transport efficiency along the corridors.
