Land engineering culture is an essential component of land culture.The Shichun terrace field culture in the middle sec-tion of the Taihang Mountains exhibits a clearly defined distribution area and cultural characteristics.It is a traditional terraced field with the richest culture in the stone-and-mud mountainous regions of northern China.By analyzing the distribution of Shic-hun terraced field,which coincides with the power area of the Xianyu Zhongshan State in Spring and Autumn Period,the mili-tary function of the terraced fields as military settlements,the period of the Xianyu Zhongshan State's existence coinciding with the emergence of traditional Chinese agriculture,the writing habits of the Xianyu Zhongshan State,and the remnants of the Zhongshan State's Great Wall,it can be concluded that the Shichun terraced field culture originated in the middle section of the Shanxi Province during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.Shanxi Province is the birthplace of the"Shichun Ter-raced Field"culture,and it is also the inheritor of this culture absorbing the essence of traditional"Shichun Terraced Fields"and"Stone Dyke Terraced Fields",which holds great practical significance for the refinement of land reclamation engineering and the terminology of land science.
