Research progress on main biological functions of plant essential oils and their regulation of rumen in ruminants
植物精油作为一类从天然植物中提取的挥发性次生代谢产物,富含结构多样的生物活性成分,具有安全、高效、环境友好等特点,在改善动物生长性能、调节瘤胃发酵、降低甲烷(CH4)排放、提高氮素利用效率和改善肠道健康等方面具有潜力.文章综述了植物精油的理化特性和主要生物学功能,重点归纳了其对反刍动物瘤胃发酵功能、生理功能、CH4排放和瘤胃微生物方面的作用机制和影响,并对未来植物精油精准剂量优化、复合精油协同效应及分子水平调控机制的深入研究进行展望,为其在反刍动物生产的合理应用提供参考.
Plant essential oils,as volatile secondary metabolites extracted from natural plants,are rich in structurally diverse bioactive components and are characterized by safety,high efficiency,and environmental friendliness.They have the potential to improve animal growth performance,regulate rumen fermentation,reduce methane(CH4)emissions,enhance nitrogen utilization efficiency,and promote intestinal health.This article reviews the physicochemical properties and main biological functions of plant essential oils,with a focus on summarizing their mechanisms and effects on rumen fermentation function,physiological functions,CH4 emissions,and rumen microbiota in ruminants.It provides an outlook on future in-depth research directions,including the optimization of precise dosages,synergistic effects of compound essential oils,and regulatory mechanisms at the molecular level,aiming to provide a reference for the rational application of plant essential oils in ruminant production.
