Within the framework of the rule of nine for the six channels and taking Jin Gui Yao Lue as the core text,formulas and corresponding patterns related to Ben Tun Qi disorder were systematically collected from Jin-Tang dynasty classics,including Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang,Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang,Wai Tai Mi Yao Fang,and Yi Xin Fang.Commentaries by modern physicians such as Lu Yuanlei and Asada Sōhaku were also consulted.The six-channel attribution and therapeutic evolution of Ben Tun Qi disorder were analyzed from two dimensions:disease-course stages and channel-pattern hierarchy.Ben Tun Qi disorder occurs in all six channels,it involves all three yin and three yang channels and dynamically transform with disease progression from exterior to interior and from yang to yin.Therapeutic strategies should therefore be adjusted according to changes in cold and heat,deficiency and excess.The rule of nine for the six channels allows the diverse and complex formulas and patterns of Ben Tun Qi disorder to be systematically situated within the six-channel framework,clearly revealing the hierarchical structure of channel patterns and the regularity of therapeutic evolution.
