Nature conservation is an important way to promote the modernization of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,under the leadership of the Party,China has carried out rich practices in nature conservation and gradually explored a path of nature conservation that suits China's national conditions.However,relevant historical research remains weak,especially in key areas such as the construction of nature reserves,biodiversity conservation,and the maintenance of ecosystem stability,which urgently require in-depth exploration.Contemporary research on the history of nature conservation should pay more attention to the collection and organization of historical materials,and be adept at drawing on interdisciplinary research perspectives and theoretical approaches.The research should delve deeply into the histories of nature conservation systems,legal frameworks,nature reserve establishment,natural resource and ecological protection practices,as well as science education,public outreach,and international exchange in conservation.The study of the history of nature conservation is not only a new topic in contemporary Chinese environmental history research,but also a positive response to major contemporary issues such as"Chinese-style modernization"and"Beautiful China".By systematically conducting research on the history of nature conservation and summarizing the practices,experiences,and lessons of the People's Republic of China in this field,we can profoundly reveal the complex relationship between humans and nature,further broaden the scope of environmental history research in modern China,and provide valuable historical foundations and practical insights for building a Chinese-style modernization featuring harmonious coexistence between humans and nature and achieves green development.
