Aim To explore the application value of colonoscopy with water delivery device in cold resection of colorectal polyps.Methods A total of 84 patients with colorectal polyps who underwent endoscopic cold resection in our hospital were se-lected and divided into a control group with 40 cases(routine wound irrigation)and a water delivery group with 44 cases(colonoscopy with water delivery device for irrigation)based on different wound irrigation plans during surgery.The complete polyp resection rates,surgical-related indicators(endoscopic field of view clarity,irrigation fluid volume,proportion of cases with additional resections during surgery,proportion of cases with use of hemostatic clips,and operative time),and perioperative complication rates were compared be-tween the two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the water delivery group demonstrated higher complete polypec-tomy rates and improved scores on the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale(P<0.05),shorter operative duration(P<0.05),an increased proportion of additional intraoperative resections(P<0.05),reduced volumes of irrigation fluid and usage of hemostatic clips(P<0.05),and lower incidence of intraoperative bleeding(P<0.05).Conclusion The colonoscope equipped with a water delivery device can improve intraoperative visual clarity,enhance the complete polyp resection rate,shorten operative time,reduce the use of intraoperative consumables and lower the risk of intraoperative bleeding during cold resection for colorectal polyps.
