Chronosequence effects of sea buckthorn remediation to iron tailings——Dynamic responses of plant growth and rhizosphere microenvironment

铁尾矿是铁矿采选过程中产生的一种典型固体废弃物,具有养分贫瘠和重金属含量高的双重特征.鉴于其污染特性,植物修复技术凭借成本低、环境扰动小以及修复效果持久等优势,成为铁尾矿污染治理领域的关键技术.为明确沙棘复垦年限对铁尾矿微环境的影响,以河北省迁安市某铁矿尾矿库为对象,利用现场取样方法,研究不同复垦年限(6、10、14 a)下沙棘对铁尾矿的修复效果.测定的指标包括沙棘的株高、冠幅、地径、胸径、枝杈数、叶面积、叶绿素含量及过氧化物酶活性,同时测定铁尾矿的含水率、pH值以及碱解氮、速效磷、速效钾含量,旨在探究沙棘生理特性对铁尾矿理化性质之间的相互影响及相关关系.结果表明,复垦14 a时,沙棘的株高、冠幅、地径、胸径和枝杈数分别较复垦6 a时显著增加20.90%、72.21%、136.29%、141.46%和65.99%;同时,铁尾矿中速效钾含量显著提高79.97%.相关性分析表明:沙棘的株高、冠幅、地径、胸径与铁尾矿含水率、碱解氮和速效钾含量均呈显著正相关,表明沙棘的生长发育能够显著改善铁尾矿的理化性质.冗余分析(Redundancy analysis,RDA)进一步证实,沙棘的生长特性是改善铁尾矿微环境的重要贡献因子.研究认为,沙棘能够有效提高铁尾矿的养分含量,且修复效果随复垦年限延长而增强.该研究结果为矿区土壤复垦与环境修复提供了科学依据,对推动植物修复技术在铁尾矿治理中的应用具有参考价值.

Iron tailings are a typical solid waste generated during the mining and processing of iron ore,characterized by both nutrient deficiency and high heavy metal content.Given their pollution characteristics,phytoremediation technology has become a key approach in the treatment of iron tailings pollution due to its advantages such as low cost,minimal environmental disturbance,and long-lasting remediation effects.To clarify the impact of sea buckthorn reclamation duration on the micro-environment of iron tailings,a study was conducted at an iron tailings pond in Qian'an City of Hebei Province using field sampling methods to investigate the remediation effects of sea buckthorn under different reclamation durations(6,10,and 14 years).The measured indicators included the plant height,crown width,ground diameter,breast height diameter,number of branches,leaf area,chlorophyll content,and peroxidase activity of sea buckthorn,as well as the moisture content,pH,alkaline hydrolyzable nitrogen,available phosphorus,and available potassium content of the iron tailings.The aim was to explore the mutual influences and correlations between the physiological characteristics of sea buckthorn and the physicochemical properties of the iron tailings.The results showed that after 14 years of reclamation,the plant height,crown width,ground diameter,breast height diameter,and number of branches of sea buckthorn significantly increased by 20.90%,72.21%,136.29%,141.46%,and 65.99%,respectively,compared to those after 6 years of reclamation.Meanwhile,the available potassium content in the iron tailings significantly increased by 79.97%.Correlation analysis revealed that the plant height,crown width,ground diameter,and breast height diameter of sea buckthorn were significantly positively correlated with the moisture content,alkaline hydrolyzable nitrogen,and available potassium content of the iron tailings,indicating that the growth and development of sea buckthorn can effectively and significantly improve the physicochemical properties of iron tailings.Redundancy analysis(RDA)further confirmed that the growth characteristics of sea buckthorn are important contributing factors to the improvement of the micro-environment of iron tailings.In conclusion,sea buckthorn can effectively enhance the nutrient content of iron tailings,and the remediation effect strengthens with prolonged reclamation duration.The findings of this study provide a scientific basis for soil reclamation and environmental restoration in mining areas,offering valuable insights for promoting the application of phytoremediation technology in the treatment of iron tailings.
