This article starts with the common causes and treatment hotspots of ventilator weaning difficulties in modern medicine,integrates and discusses the related theories of traditional Chinese medicine that the kidney governs the intake of qi and the lung governs qi,and the qi flows through all meridians.It also conducts a theo-retical integration analysis between the function of the zongqi(vital energy)that coordinates the heart and lungs in participating and the related role of the adrenal gland in modern medicine in the human body.A treatment method is formulated,which involves nourishing the kidney to assist the lower energizer in taking in qi,ventila-ting the lungs to clear turbid qi from all meridians,regulating the diaphragm to dredge the triple warmer meridian pathway,and regulating the zongqi to harmonize the heart and lungs and enhance stress resistance.An acupunc-ture and moxibustion prescription consisting of Taixi(KL3),Yunmen(ST36),Erzhong(HX1),and Adrenal gland(TG2p)is formulated for clinical practice.
