Stenosing tenosynovitis of the radial styloid process refers to the aseptic inflammation of the synovial sheath of the abductor pollicis longus tendon and the extensor pollicis brevis tendon at the radial styloid process.It falls in the categories of"tendon injury"and"tendon arthralgia"in traditional Chinese medicine and is mostly caused by chronic strain.It is common in clinical practice.This article presented a case study of a patient with stenosing tenosynovitis of the radial styloid process due to deficiency and cold treated with shallow acupuncture.Through the vibration of the shallow acupuncture,the floating meridians and sun meridians in the twelve cutaneous regions of the human body were acted upon,which plays a role in regulating the local and systemic qi and blood.After two courses of treatment,the patient's wrist pain disappeared and could move freely.Therefore,the application of shallow acupuncture in the treatment of stenosing tenosynovitis of the radial styloid process due to deficiency and cold had certain reference value for clinical practice.
