The 44th annual CERAWeek,organized by S&P Global,took place from March 23 to 27,2026 in Houston,Texas,under the theme"Fusion&Rivalry:Energy,Technology,and Geopolitics."The conference highlighted the deep interweaving of geopolitical crises,artificial intelligence(AI)computing power,and energy.Participants of the conference believe that geopolitics has become the core driver shaping global energy market dynamics,energy security has returned to the center of national policy and investment decisions,and the global energy system is shifting decisively toward greater redundancy and resilience.The energy transition has moved from an aggressive push into a new phase of"pragmatic advancement,"leading to a re-evaluation of oil and gas as the bedrock of the energy system,with their strategic value and stabilizing role increasingly underscored.The rapid growth of AI is driving exponential increases for electricity demand in data center,making power supply capacity a hard constraint in great-power technological competition and a critical point for reshaping the global energy landscape.Meanwhile,China has built a full-value-chain system for critical mineral metals in new energy industry,forming core competitive advantages,which makes it a hot topic at this year's conference.
