Growing-finishing phase accounts for more than 60%of the total production cycle of commercial pigs,and growth performance during this period directly determines the economic profitability of pig farming.The application of liquid feed offers a novel strategy to enhance farming efficiency by reducing feed costs,im-proving feed conversion rate,and increasing growth rate.This article reviewed the current research progress on the use of liquid feed in growing-finishing pig production.It described the common types and quality character-istics of liquid feed,and evaluated their effects on growth performance,intestinal microbiota,blood biochemi-cal parameters,intestinal morphology,carcass and meat quality,as well as feeding behavior.Furthermore,the necessity of determining the optimal feed-to-water ratio,establishing appropriate feeding curves,and imple-menting strict feed hygiene control in practical production was discussed.This review aims to provide a compre-hensive reference for livestock enterprises considering the adoption of liquid feeding systems.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2026,38(5):3230-3243]
