Analytical Calculation of Fault Current in Grid-forming Converters Under Asymmetric Faults
针对构网变流器故障电流受控制策略与电磁暂态耦合影响解析计算困难的问题,提出一种不对称故障下构网变流器故障电流解析计算方法.首先,基于构网变流器各环节动态响应速度差异,将其故障电流数学模型简化为由无功-电压控制环节动态与故障电流动态构成的快、慢时间尺度分离的数学模型;随后,依据无功功率-电压控制环节求解内电势解析表达式;在此基础上,将该表达式代入故障电流正序分量动态方程,并叠加负序分量,最终得到构网变流器故障电流解析表达式.与传统数值计算或近似建模方法相比,该方法可准确表征构网变流器在不对称故障下的暂态电流特性,揭示控制参数、虚拟阻抗及电网条件对故障电流幅值与相位的综合影响规律,为故障限流策略设计与工程参数优化提供了理论依据.
To addresses the challenge that the fault current of grid-forming converters is strongly affected by the cou-pling between control strategies and electromagnetic transients,which causes difficulty in analytical calculation,an an-alytical calculation method for the fault current of grid-forming converters under asymmetric faults is proposed in this pa-per.First,based on the differences in dynamic response speed among the converter's control loops,the mathematical model of fault current is simplified into a fast-slow timescale separation model composed of reactive power-voltage con-trol loop dynamics and fault current dynamics.Then,an analytical expression for internal potential is derived according to the reactive power-voltage control loop,which is further substituted into the positive-sequence component dynamic equation of fault current.The negative-sequence component is subsequently superimposed to yield an analytical expres-sion for the fault current of the grid-forming converter.Compared with the conventional numerical or approximate model-ing methods,the proposed approach can accurately characterize the transient current characteristics of grid-forming con-verters under asymmetric faults,so as to reveal the coupled effects of control parameters,virtual impedance and grid conditions on the amplitude and phase of fault current.The results in this paper provide a theoretical foundation for the design of fault current-limiting strategies and the optimization of engineering parameters.
