China's ultra-large-scale market provides a solid foundation and strong safeguard for enhancing manu-facturing resilience.Using provincial-level panel data on China's manufacturing sector from 2011 to 2022,this study empirically tests the overall effect,heterogeneity effect,moderating effect,and mediating effect of market scale on manufacturing resilience.The results show that expansion of market scale is conducive to enhancing man-ufacturing resilience,and this promoting effect is more significant in regions with larger populations,land areas,and economic sizes.The promoting effect of market scale on manufacturing resilience is also influenced by the level of regional openness and marketization:the higher the openness and marketization levels,the more favorable to strengthening manufacturing resilience.Market scale shapes and reinforces manufacturing resilience by improving producer services efficiency.Therefore,regions should further cultivate an ultra-large-scale market,strengthen the coordinated development of domestic and international markets,promote high-level opening-up,accelerate the building of a unified national market,and continuously shape and strengthen manufacturing resilience to underpin the modern industrial system.
