The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that efforts should be coordinated to build a strong country in education,science and technology,and talent,thereby pointing out the direction and path for the high-quality development of education.Investigation and research are an excellent tradition and working style of our Party,and conducting in-depth investigation and research helps promote the high-quality development of education.Universities should develop a profound understanding of the theoretical,contemporary,and practical foundations for empowering ideological and political work through investigation and research,and further explore the educational implications of this empowerment from such aspects as upholding the mass line,maintaining a problem-oriented approach,and giving equal weight to"investigation"and"research".Through practical paths such as conducting immersive and in-depth investigations among student groups,effectively strengthening scientific and standardized investigation and research,precisely targeting pain points and difficulties,and continuously promoting the application of research findings,investigation and research can empower ideological and political work in universities.This will continuously improve and innovate the methods of ideological and political work in universities and provide references and suggestions for advancing extensive investigation and research in higher education in a deep and practical manner.
