Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment protocols of bloody tears(2024)OA

Bloody tears denote a medical condition characterized by the presence of blood in the tears that flow from the eye,stemming from a variety of causes.The etiology and clinical manifestations of this condition are intricate and multifaceted,frequently intersecting with multiple disciplines and specialties.To furnish clinicians with a valuable reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of bloody tears,the Lacrimal Diseases Professional Committee of Ophthalmologist Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association,in conjunction with the Lacrimal Diseases Group of Ophthalmic Professional Committee of Chinese Association of Integrated Medicine,organized a panel of relevant experts.After thorough and serious discussion,these experts established this consensus document,which offers guiding opinions on the etiology,clinical characteristics,and diagnosis and therapeutic approaches for bloody tears based on clinical practice.
