Uzbekistan stands as a crucial Central Asian partner for China.Understanding the trajectory and implications of Uzbekistan's farmland reform holds strategic importance for enhancing China-Uzbekistan agricultural cooperation and strengthening the Belt and Road Initiative partnership.This paper presented a systematic examination of Uzbekistan's farmland system reform and its agricultural development impacts,analyzes the evolution of agricultural land policies,and investigates the organizational characteristics and operational mechanisms of three primary production entities:individual farms,private farms,and agribusinesses.The study also explored how agricultural production structure and efficiency have evolved throughout the reform process.Some findings were made that while farmland reform has stimulated Uzbekistan's agricultural development,several challenges persist,including insecure land use rights,restricted farm management autonomy,and inadequate support services.Future reforms should prioritize land market liberalization,establish effective agricultural land transfer mechanisms,enhance agricultural product market systems,and strengthen agricultural public service capabilities to build a robust institutional framework for Uzbekistan's sustainable agricultural development.
