Territorial space serves as the foundation,carrier,and outcome of high-quality development.Drawing on relevant theories of new spatial economics,this paper starts from key concepts such as the duality of commodities,the dual demands of people,quality acceptabitity,product competitiveness,talent location,and the quality of territorial space,and analyzes the internal operating mechanism by which the quality of territorial space supports high-quality development.The study suggests that:(1)Talent location is determined by the quality acceptabitity of territorial space.On one hand,it requires providing sound economic income to satisfy humans'authentic needs;on the other hand,it necessitates offering safe and comfortable natural and cultural environments to fulfill humans'authentic needs.(2)Enhancing territorial space quality facilitates talent aggregation;talent is the decisive factor in improving regional competitiveness and achieving high-quality development;high-quality development,in turn,further elevates territorial space quality.The following measures are recommended to enhance the comprehensive strength and competitiveness of territorial space and promote high-quality development:(1)Improve the dual value of territorial space to satisfy people's dual needs.(2)Improve territorial space quality to achieve the sustainable growth of talent quantity and quality.(3)Avoid excessive investment in spatial quality(to prevent waste)to enhance territorial space's competitiveness.
