Based on the theory of"preventing a disease before it arises,"this paper systematically explores the application of the food-medicine homologous substance Fuling(Poria)in the prevention and treatment of primary liver cancer.Fuling(Poria)is neutral in nature,with the effects of strengthening the spleen,eliminating dampness,and calming the heart.Its action characteristics align with the core pathogenesis of liver cancer,which involves"deficiency,blood stasis,and toxin."Focusing on the four stages of"preventing disease before its onset,arresting the nascent disease,preventing progression after disease onset,and preventing recurrence after recovery,"this paper reviews the intervention strategies and representative formulas employing Fuling(Poria),thereby constructing a prevention and treatment framework that runs through the entire process of liver cancer occurrence and development.Bibliometric analysis further confirms that research on Fuling(Poria)has extended from clinical application and precursor lesion intervention to the study of liver cancer itself and its molecular mechanisms,forming a research landscape corresponding to the various stages of"preventing a disease before it arises."Moreover,its active ingredients including polysaccharide and triterpenoid play roles in inhibiting initiation,blocking proliferation,anti-metastasis,and inducing apoptosis at different tumor stages,precisely corresponding to the core connotations of the four stages of"preventing a disease before it arises,"thereby establishing a multi-target synergistic intervention network throughout the entire course of liver cancer.This study provides a theoretical basis and practical pathway for the application of Fuling(Poria)in the whole-course prevention and treatment of liver cancer under the guidance of the concept of"preventing a disease before it arises."
