In online health platforms,the decision to disclose patients'private information is a complex one involving the type and sensitivity of the disclosed information.The multi-source signals set in the platform,such as those from doctors,the platform,and other patients,can affect their privacy disclosure behavior.However,most existing research treats patient's privacy disclosure as a whole,making it necessary to explore the different impacts of multiple sources of signals on the breadth and depth of privacy disclosure on these platforms,as well as the moderating role of disease risk level.Based on signaling theory,this study utilizes relevant data from the Good Doctor Online platform to examine the impact of multiple sources of signals on the breadth and depth of patient privacy disclosure.The results show that signals from physicians,other patients,and the platform all promote the breadth and depth of patient privacy disclosure,but their effects differ in magnitude;the impact of signals from these three sources on the breadth of patient privacy disclosure is greater than their impact on the depth of disclosure.In addition,the degree of disease risk plays a different moderating role in the impact of these three signals.The research conclusions can provide references for promoting effective information sharing on online health platforms and optimizing online medical services.
