Diachronism of the Uppermost Wujiaping Formation in South China Block:New Evidence from Conodont Biostratigraphy

晚二叠世是地质历史上的关键转折期,先后经历了瓜德鲁普世晚期生物灭绝事件和二叠纪—三叠纪之交大灭绝事件,全球生物多样性、生态系统及古环境均发生显著变化.华南板块广泛发育的海相地层为该时期生物灭绝模式及环境演变研究提供了良好的沉积记录.湖北京山剖面连续沉积中二叠统至下三叠统海相地层,自下而上依次发育吴家坪组(灰岩)、大隆组(硅质岩于泥岩互层,最下部发育巧克力色凝灰岩)及大冶组(页岩).本研究以该剖面为研究对象,重点聚焦吴家坪组—长兴组界线层段,开展高精度牙形石生物地层学旨在厘清吴家坪组顶部的区域沉积时代.尽管大隆组和大冶组未发现可鉴定牙形石,但在吴家坪组顶部获取了丰富的牙形石化石,共鉴定出 2 属 6 种,包括:Clarkina.dukouensis、C.asymmetrica、C.guangyuanensis、C.liangshanensis、C.transcaucasica 及 Hindeodus typicails.依据牙形石生物地层对比,吴家坪组碳酸盐岩顶部应归属于 Clarkina guangyuanensis 带,为区域地层划分及晚二叠世生物-环境事件研究提供了新的年代学约束.

The Late Permian represents a critical transitional interval in geological history,marked by the end-Guadalupian extinction event and the subsequent Permian-Triassic mass extinction.These events coincided with profound changes in global biodiversity,ecosystem structure,and paleoenvironmental conditions.The well-developed marine successions of the South China Block provide exceptional sedimentary records for investigating the patterns and processes of biotic extinction and environmental perturbation during this interval.The Jingshan section in Hubei province preserves a continuous marine succession spanning the Middle Permian to Lower Triassic,comprising in ascending order the Wujiaping Formation(limestone),the Dalong Formation(interbedded chert and mudstone with chocolate-colored tuff at its base),and the Daye Formation(shale).This study focuses on the Wujiaping-Changhsingian boundary interval in this section,employing high-resolution conodont biostratigraphy to refine the regional depositional age of the upper Wujiaping Formation.Although no diagnostic conodonts were recovered from the Dalong and Daye formations,abundant conodont faunas were obtained from the top of the Wujiaping Formation,yielding six species assignable to two genera,including Clarkina dukouensis,C.asymmetrica,C.guangyuanensis,C.liangshanensis,C.transcaucasica,and Hindeodus typicails.Biostratigraphic correlation places the top of the Wujiaping Formation carbonates within the Clarkina guangyuanensis Zone,thereby providing new chronostratigraphic constraints for regional stratigraphic correlation and for the study of Late Permian bio-environmental events.
