This paper aims to explore whether the spatial control policy of national key ecological func-tional areas(hereinafter referred to as"key ecological functional areas")can drive regional green tech-nology innovation by enhancing the implementation of environmental policies.By constructing an inte-grated analysis framework and using panel data from national prefecture level cities and a two-way fixed effects model for empirical testing,the study found that the establishment of key ecological functional zones significantly improved the efficiency of local environmental policy implementation,manifested as increased environmental supervision,increased investment in pollution control,and improved ecological environment quality;The improvement of execution efficiency has created favorable conditions for the application of green technology and the development of ecological industries,and is a key path for culti-vating ecological new quality productivity.However,this effect is constrained by factors such as local fiscal capacity,industrial structure,and the degree of policy support,and presents regional differences.The research provides a basis for improving environmental governance efficiency and promoting green innovation,and proposes policy recommendations from optimizing ecological compensation,improving assessment systems,and strengthening diversified collaboration to promote the coordinated development of key ecological functional areas and the cultivation of green new quality productivity.
