The Impact of Enterprises' Artificial Intelligence Applications on Innovation in Supply Chain Enterprises
人工智能(AI)技术正成为推动企业创新的核心驱动力.基于中国A股上市公司及其前五大客户和供应商数据,探讨核心企业人工智能应用对上下游合作伙伴创新的影响.研究发现:(1)核心企业应用人工智能技术具有显著的知识溢出效应,能够促进上下游合作伙伴创新.(2)不同类型AI技术的影响存在差异,行业应用型AI因与业务场景结合紧密作用最为突出,方法型AI影响相对平缓.(3)AI技术存在明显的组合协同效应,行业应用型、系统软件型与方法型三者结合的影响最强,超越任何单一或两两组合模式.(4)供应链合作伙伴的敏捷响应度在核心企业AI驱动合作伙伴创新过程中发挥部分中介作用,即核心企业AI通过提升供应链合作伙伴信息处理与市场适应能力间接促进创新.(5)异质性分析显示,核心企业AI的创新溢出效应在非国有企业、高科技企业以及创新水平差距较小的合作伙伴中更为显著.(6)相较于下游客户,核心企业AI应用对上游供应商的创新促进作用更强.
Artificial Intelligence(AI)technology is becoming a core driver of innovation for enterprises.Based on data from Chinese A-share listed companies and their top five customers and suppliers between 2010 and 2023,this study explores the impact of a core firm's AI application on the innovation of upstream and downstream partners from a supply chain spillover perspective.The findings reveal that,first,the application of AI by core firms not only enhances their own efficiency but also generates significant knowledge spillover effects,promoting the innovation performance of supply chain partners.Second,the impact of different types of AI technologies varies.Industry-specific AI demonstrates the most pronounced effect due to its close integration with business scenarios,while methodological AI has a relatively moderate influence.Third,AI technologies exhibit a clear combinatorial synergy,with the combination of methodological,system-software,and industry-specific AI yielding the strongest impact,surpassing any single or pairwise combination.This underscores the importance of building an integrated AI ecosystem to fully unleash supply chain innovation potential.Fourth,supply chain enterprises' agility plays a partial mediating role in the process of AI-driven innovation,meaning AI indirectly fosters innovation by enhancing information processing capabilities and market adaptability of supply chain partners.Fifth,heterogeneity analysis indicates that the innovation-promoting effect of AI is more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises,high-tech firms,and supply chain partners with smaller innovation gaps,suggesting that absorptive capacity and innovation foundation are critical factors influencing AI spillover effects.Sixth,compared to downstream customers,core firms' AI exerts a stronger innovation-promoting effect on upstream suppliers,likely because suppliers are more reliant on the technological standards and collaboration requirements of core enterprises.
