Geological environment monitoring and mine ecological environment evaluation of typical open-pit mining based on remote sensing in Guangdong province

[研究目的]广东省长期高强度矿山开发在带来经济效益的同时破坏了矿山生态环境,亟需对典型露天开采矿山开发活动进行遥感监测.[研究方法]本文基于遥感技术,利用高分二号(GF-2)和 Landsat 8 数据,提取了研究区矿山地质环境信息,获取了最新开发状况和生态环境状况.[研究结果]结果表明:(1)基于 GF-2 遥感数据监测发现,截至 2023 年底,矿山开发占地面积为 187.17 hm2,各矿山开发占地类型面积从大到小分别为固体废弃物、矿山建筑、采场、恢复治理和中转场地,采场均位于采矿权内,为界内开采;(2)基于 Landsat 8 数据计算研究区遥感生态指数(RSEI)进行生态环境评价,结果显示研究区生态环境状况总体较好,以优等级为主,多位于植被覆盖区域,差和较差等级相对较少,主要位于城镇、交通干线、矿业活动区域;(3)2020 年至 2023 年,研究区生态环境质量逐渐变差,等级为优和良的面积逐渐减少,等级为中等、较差和差的面积逐渐增加.[结论]矿山开发活动区域生态环境变化明显,矿业活动对区内生态环境质量造成了明显的负面影响,研究成果可为有效遏制土地资源的无序开发和浪费提供依据,促进矿山开发与生态环境保护的和谐共生.

[Objective]The long-term,high-intensity mining activities in Guangdong Province have generated economic benefits while also damaging the ecological environment of mining areas.There is an urgent need to conduct remote sensing monitoring of development activities in typical open-pit mines.[Methods]This study,based on remote sensing technology,utilized Gaofen-2(GF-2)and Landsat 8 data to extract geological environmental information of the mining area in the study region.The latest development status and ecological environment conditions were obtained.[Results](1)Monitoring based on GF-2 remote sensing data revealed that,as of the end of 2023,the total area occupied by mining activities in the study region was 187.17 hm2.The area of different land use types associated with mining activities,ranked from largest to smallest,includes solid waste,mining infrastructure,excavation sites,restoration/treatment areas,and transfer sites.All excavation sites are located within mining concession boundaries,indicating compliance with authorized limits.(2)Ecological environment assessment was conducted by calculating the Remote Sensing Ecological Index(RSEI)for the study area using Landsat 8 data.The results show that the overall ecological environment in the study area is relatively good,with"excellent"being the predominant grade,mostly located in vegetated regions.Areas rated as"poor"and"very poor"are relatively limited and primarily concentrated in urban areas,major transportation corridors,and areas of mining activity.(3)From 2020 to 2023,the ecological environment quality in the study area gradually deteriorated.The area classified as"excellent"and"good"decreased progressively,while the area classified as"fair,""poor,"and"very poor"gradually increased.[Conclusions]The ecological environment in areas affected by mining activities has undergone significant changes.Mining activities have exerted a clearly negative impact on the ecological environment quality in the region.The findings of this study can provide a basis for effectively curbing the disorderly development and waste of land resources,thereby promoting the harmonious coexistence of mining development and ecological environmental protection.
