Research on canal culture has achieved remarkable accomplishments over the past few dec-ades,mainly reflected in the protection and utilization of cultural heritage,the creation of canal cityscapes,and the development of canal tourism and cultural industries.Canal culture research encompasses various research dimensions.In recent years,three core theoretical terms-urban water culture,cultural home-land,and narrative landscape-have gradually drawn the attention of the academic community.Centering on these core concepts,the design and operation of national canal cultural parks are increasingly focusing on the following three aspects:first,the shaping of canal water culture and urban image;second,the ca-nal cultural homeland and the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage;third,the canal narrative landscape and the layout of cultural industries.
