[Purpose/Significance]Promoting the think tank-oriented transformation of regional and coun-try studies journals is a crucial direction for enhancing the discipline's ability to support national strategic deci-sion-making.Exploring the construction path of its think tank functions is conducive to improving the efficiency of transforming knowledge achievements in Area and Country Studies into policy proposals.[Method/Process]Taking Contemporary International Relations,a benchmark journal for think tank development,as a typical case,this paper,from three dimensions including knowledge supply mode,think tank function performance,and policy response efficiency,incorporates the journal's knowledge production,knowledge integration,and knowledge dis-semination into a unified evaluation framework,and constructs a think tank function evaluation model for area and country studies journals.Based on the complete data from CNKI(1981-2025)and authoritative reprint platforms,quantitative statistics and content analysis methods are adopted to systematically measure the journal's column setting,topic evolution,and secondary policy dissemination effect.[Result/Conclusion]The empirical findings indicate that the journal has formed a knowledge production model centered on"research and judgment-applica-tion",realizing the transformation from an academic orientation to a strategic orientation;through the in-depth coupling of"topics-columns",it systematically integrates scattered research topics and constructs a knowledge in-tegration mechanism that focuses on problems supported by interdisciplinary studies;by virtue of its high reprint rate on authoritative policy reprint platforms,it has built a"upward-outward"two-way penetrating knowledge dissemination path.The study reveals that the construction of think tank functions for area and country studies journals is a systematic project that runs through knowledge production,knowledge integration,and knowledge dissemination.The aforementioned model and path provide a referable practical paradigm for similar journals.
