科普数据视频的可视化设计及叙事研究OA
Study on the visualization design and narrative strategies of science data videos:Taking Institute for Planets as an example
数据视频是新媒体时代科普传播的重要形式.以Bilibili平台"星球研究所"的数据视频为例,通过拉片分析和开放式编码方法,分析其可视化设计及叙事特点,并结合弹幕数据与对用户的访谈,探讨相关策略在科普数据视频中的实际效用.结果显示:(1)"星球研究所"已形成以三维动态地图可视化为主,综合运用镜头运动、剪辑技法、注意线索、黑场运用等的视觉叙事范式;(2)复杂的可视化与镜头运动虽具有视觉冲击力,但可能导致"视觉过载",令弹幕互动率下降.当前科普数据视频制作已有可推广的经验范式,但存在过度追求视觉效果、偏离科普本质的问题,建议深入思考可视化手段的适用性和必要性,建立评估体系,以平衡美学表现与科普效能.
In the new media era,data videos have become a significant format for popular science communication.This study presents a case study based on the data videos produced by Institute for Planets.By conducting shot-by-shot analysis and open coding,this work investigates the visualization design and narrative features of the videos.In addition,danmaku(bullet comment)data are collected and combined with user interviews to explore the effectiveness of visual strategies in popular science communication.The results indicate that:(1)Institute for Planets has developed a visual narrative paradigm primarily based on three-dimensional dynamic visualization,integrating the use of black screens,camera movements,editing techniques,and attention cues;(2)Although complex visualization and camera movements enhance visual impact,they may lead to"visual overload"and lower danmaku interaction rates.In conclusion,while current practices in science data video production offer some replicable paradigms,there is a tendency to prioritize aesthetic performance at the expense of scientific clarity.This study calls for a critical reflection on the applicability and necessity of visualization techniques,and recommends the development of an evaluation framework to better balance visual aesthetics with the effectiveness of popular science communication.
