The construction of discursive authority for TCM culture within Western academic systems faces significant challenges.This study employed a mixed-methods approach,combining quantitative statistics with discourse analysis,to systematically review the publication trends of humanities and social science research on TCM over the past decade in major international academic databases.Focusing on Amazon's online bookstore,it investigated the market performance and reader feedback of monographs related to TCM culture,and compared the discourse volume and influence of works by domestic and foreign scholars.Representative translations of TCM classics were selected for discourse analysis to provide an in-depth examination of their translation,reception,and interpretation overseas.Through systematic investigation,this study illustrated the problems such as structural imbalances in research themes,the decline of indigenous discourse,and insufficient influence of translated works during the construction of discursive authority for TCM culture within Western academic fields,which could provide empirical evidence for enhancing the international discursive authority of TCM culture from the perspective of overseas academic discourse.
