Research Progress on the Regulatory Role of Adiponectin on Animal Ovarian Aging

卵巢衰老是动物随年龄增长出现的正常生理现象,表现为卵母细胞或卵泡数量和质量下降、卵泡抗氧化能力减弱、颗粒细胞(Granulosa Cells,GCs)凋亡和卵泡闭锁增加,导致繁殖能力降低.氧化应激、DNA损伤、线粒体受损和炎症反应等病理因素会加速卵巢衰老.脂联素(Adiponectin,ADPN)是由脂肪组织分泌的细胞因子,通过调控卵巢代谢、减少 DNA 损伤、改善线粒体功能、抵抗炎症和氧化应激、调控 GCs 凋亡和自噬以及生殖激素分泌等来延缓卵巢衰老.本文综述了动物卵巢衰老的发生机制,ADPN 的生物学功能及其对卵巢衰老的调控作用,为研究 ADPN 在卵巢储备功能、GCs 凋亡、预防或延缓卵巢衰老及提高繁殖性能等方面的作用提供参考.

Ovarian aging is a normal physiological phenomenon that occurs with the increase of an animal's age.It is manifested by the decline in the quantity and quality of oocytes or follicles,the decrease in the antioxidant capacity of follicles,the increase in the apoptosis of granulosa cells(GCs)and follicular atresia,etc.,which leads to a decrease in reproductive ability.Some pathological damages such as oxidative stress,the decline in DNA repair ability,mitochondrial impairment,and inflammatory response can cause ovarian aging in animals.Adiponectin(ADPN)is a cytokine secreted by adipose tissue.It can delay ovarian aging by regulating various physiological,molecular,and cellular events in the ovary,including the metabolism in ovary,reduction of DNA damage,improvement of mitochondrial function,resistance to inflammation and oxidative stress,regulation of the apoptosis and autophagy of follicular GCs,as well as the secretion of reproductive hormones.This review comprehensively summarizes the mechanisms underlying ovarian aging in animals,the biological functions of ADPN,and its regulatory effects on ovarian aging.It provides critical insights for investigating the potential roles of ADPN in modulating ovarian reserve function,suppressing granulosa cell apoptosis,preventing or delaying ovarian senescence,and enhancing reproductive performance.
