Research progress on polarization rotation reflective surface
极化是电磁波的基本特性之一,主要表征电磁波电场矢量随时间变化的规律.反射式极化扭转器(polarization rotation reflective surface,PRRS)作为一款能够改变电磁波极化状态的功能器件,在雷达散射截面(radar cross section,RCS)缩减、天线设计以及遥感系统等领域均有着广泛的应用,近年来已成为电磁超表面研究领域的热点之一.本文主要聚焦于能够实现线极化入射波扭转为正交极化反射波的PRRS,系统回顾其设计原理和实现方法,从单元的结构形式、材料组成等角度,全面总结国内外在窄带、宽带、多频带、多功能以及可调等特性的PRRS设计方面的研究进展.
Polarization is one of the fundamental characteristics of electromagnetic waves,primarily describing the temporal variation of the electric field vector.The polarization rotation reflective surface(PRRS),as a functional device capable of changing the polarization state of electromagnetic waves,has wide applications in radar cross section(RCS)reduction,antenna design,remote sensing systems,and other fields.In recent years,PRRS has become a research hotspot in the field of electromagnetic metasurfaces.This paper focuses on a polarization rotation reflective surface that converts linearly polarized incident waves into orthogonal linearly polarized reflected waves,and it systematically reviews the design principles and implementation methods of PRRS.From the perspectives of structural configurations and material compositions of PRRS unit cells,we comprehensively summarize the domestic and international research progress on PRRS designs with characteristics such as narrowband,wideband,multiband,multifunction and tunability.
