Canine and feline wet food,as a category of pet food characterized by high moisture content,holds a significant position in modern companion animal nutrition,owing to its unique textural properties,excellent palatability,and positive role in maintaining hydration status.This paper provides a systematic review of the classification system,raw materials,processing characteristics,as well as thermal and non-thermal sterilization technologies employed in canine and feline wet food production,and their impacts on product quality and nutrient retention.The aim is to offer a theoretical foundation and technical support for the development of high-quality,nutritionally precise canine and feline wet food products.
