This paper summarized professor ZHANG Lei's clinical experience in treating pediatric tic disorder based on the dysfunction of the five zang(脏)organs.It is believed that the dysfunction of the five zang organs consti-tutes the fundamental pathogenesis of this condition,which can be classified into five syndrome types including vigor-ous heart-liver fire syndrome,turbid-stasis harassing the spirit syndrome,wood fire tormenting metal and lung qi failing to purify syndrome,spleen deficiency generating wind and liver wood failing to nourish syndrome,and liver-kidney insufficiency with reflection weakness and minds damage syndrome.Correspondingly,the methods of opening constraint,removing turbidity,clearing up with light medicines,unblocking through transportation,and consolida-ting original qi can be used.For the five syndrome types mentioned above,self-formulated Yuda Decoction(郁达汤),modified Zhimi Fuling Pill(指迷茯苓丸),self-formulated Guqing Decoction(谷青汤),self-formulated Yuntong Decoction(运通汤),and self-formulated Guyuan Decoction(固元汤)are used respectively.These prescriptions aim to regulate the five zang organs and remove pathological products such as wind,phlegm,stasis,and dampness,thereby achieving the goal of treating the disease.
