Bronchial asthma,the most prevalent respiratory disease in childhood,continues to persistently exhibit high morbidity and incidence rates,and emerges as a significant global health concern that impacts quality of life.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has a well documented history in asthma treatment and demonstrates unique advantages in asthma's prevention and management.Notably,macrophages—the most abundant innate immune cells in alveoli—are closely implicated in asthma pathogenesis.This study systematically reviews recent 5-years advancements in TCM-based regulation of macrophage polarization for asthma management,aiming to provide insights and theoretical foundations for further exploration of asthma mechanisms and elucidation of TCM therapeutic principles.
