This study aims to summarize Professor Wu Zhongchao's clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas and methods for vertigo caused by atlantoaxial subluxation.By tracing the classical origins of the"kidney essence-brain marrow axis"theory and interpreting the mechanism of synergistic imbalance between muscles and bone seams based on modern integrated Chinese and western medicine theories,combined with the analysis of typical clinical cases,the experience of integrating acupuncture and herbal medicine in treating vertigo caused by atlantoaxial subluxation was refined.The atlantoaxial region serves as the"biomechanical hub for the upward transport of essence and marrow".Through blade needle release of three key acupoints-Fengfu(GV16),Fengchi(GB20),and Yifeng(SJ17)-combined with syndrome differentiation and treatment using Guizhi Jia Gegen Tang and Huanglian Wendan Tang,an integrated treatment approach of"releasing muscles and regulating bones,unblocking the governor vessel to refresh the brain,and replenishing the sea of marrow"is achieved.This provides a scalable new perspective for the diagnosis and treatment of cervical vertigo in traditional Chinese medicine.
