Estimation of Genetic Parameters for Production and Functional Traits of Holstein Cattle in Ningxia

[目的]估计宁夏地区荷斯坦牛主要生产性状与功能性状的遗传参数,为宁夏地区荷斯坦牛遗传评估体系和选择指数制定提供参考依据.[方法]收集宁夏地区9个牧场2009―2021年间荷斯坦牛的淘汰记录、繁殖记录和生产记录等,分析性状为8种生产性状(日产奶量、乳脂率、乳蛋白率、乳糖率、脂蛋比、305 d产奶量、峰值产奶量、体细胞评分)和3种功能性状(生产寿命、在群寿命、产犊间隔).采用单性状和双性状动物模型,通过DMU软件AI-REML方法估计宁夏地区荷斯坦牛生产性状和功能性状的遗传参数及相关性.[结果]不同非遗传因素对宁夏地区荷斯坦牛产奶性状、长寿性状和产犊间隔均具有极显著影响(P<0.01).宁夏地区荷斯坦牛生产性状中日产奶量的遗传力为0.17,乳成分性状的遗传力较低,为0.04~0.13;生产寿命和在群寿命的遗传力均为0.08,产犊间隔的遗传力为0.07,均处于较低水平.产奶量性状(日产奶量、305 d产奶量、峰值产奶量)间存在正遗传相关(0.42~0.97),乳脂率与乳蛋白率间呈中等正遗传相关(0.65),而日产奶量与乳脂率、乳蛋白率及体细胞评分间呈负遗传相关(―0.61~―0.44).长寿性状(生产寿命和在群寿命)之间具有高度的遗传和表型相关性(>0.80),表明可通过相互替代实现遗传评估.产犊间隔与日产奶量和乳糖率间呈中等负遗传相关(―0.38~―0.33),而与乳蛋白率、体细胞评分和 305 d产奶量间呈正遗传相关(0.31~0.55),提示生产性状和繁殖性状间存在遗传颉颃.[结论]宁夏地区荷斯坦牛群体在生产性状方面遗传潜力较高,但乳腺健康、繁殖和寿命性状遗传力较低.未来应在育种选择中兼顾生产性状与功能性状,通过构建多性状综合选择指数,促进奶牛群体的健康与可持续改良.

[Objective]The aim of this study was to estimate the genetic parameters of main production and functional traits of Holstein cattle in Ningxia,providing a reference basis for the formulation of the genetic evaluation system and selection index of Holstein cattle in Ningxia.[Method]The culling,reproduction and production records in Holstein cattle of 9 pastures in Ningxia from 2009 to 2021 were collected.The analyzed traits included 8 production traits(daily milk production(DMY),milk fat percentage(MFP),milk protein percentage(MPP),milk lactose percentage(MLP),fat protein ratio(FPR),305 d milk yield(MY305),peak milk yield(PMY)and somatic cell score(SCS))and 3 functional traits(production life(PL),herd life(HL)and calving interval(CI)).The genetic parameters and correlations of production and functional traits of Holstein cattle in Ningxia were estimated using monotrait and bitrait animal models and the AI-REML method of DMU software.[Result]Different non-genetic factors had an extremely significant effect on the milk production traits,longevity traits and calving interval of Holstein cattle in Ningxia(P<0.01).The heritability of DMY was 0.17,while that of milk composition traits were relatively low(0.04 to 0.13).The heritability of PL and HL was both 0.08,and that of CI was 0.07,both of which were at a relatively low level.There was a positive genetic correlation(0.42 to 0.97)among milk production traits(DMY,MY305 and PMY),and a moderate positive genetic correlation between MFP and MPP(0.65),while milk production was negatively genetic correlated with MFP,MPP and SCS(―0.61 to ―0.44).Longevity traits(PL and HL)had a high genetic and phenotypic correlation(>0.80),indicating that genetic evaluation could be achieved through mutual substitution.There was a moderate negative genetic correlation between calving interval and DMY and MLP(―0.38 to ―0.33),while it was positively genetic correlated with MPP,SCS and MY305(0.31 to 0.55),suggesting a genetic antagonism between production and reproductive traits.[Conclusion]Holstein cattle population in Ningxia exhibited moderate genetic potential for production traits but relatively low heritability for udder health,reproduction and longevity.The results highlighted the necessity of incorporating functional traits into breeding objectives and developing multi-trait selection indices to achieve balanced genetic improvement for both productivity and sustainability in dairy cows.
