Aquatic products may be exposed to various veterinary drugs during aquaculture,such as antibiotics,hor-mones,and pesticides,for disease prevention and treatment or growth promotion.Improper or excessive use of these veterinary drugs can cause residue accumulation in aquatic products.These residues may enter the human body through the food chain and pose potential health risks to consumers.The colloidal gold immunochromatographic rapid testing technology plays a significant role in detecting veterinary drug residues in aquatic products due to its speed,sensitivity,specificity,and portability.By analyzing the principles,characteristics,and practical application cases of this technology,as well as comparing the detection limit differences between rapid testing and quantitative detection techniques,the significant advantages of this technology are clearly demonstrated.These advantages include impro-ving detection and regulatory efficiency,safeguarding consumer health,and promoting the development of aquatic product trade.[Chinese Fishery Quality and Standards,2025,15(5):28-36]
