At present,China has entered an era of tight spatial resource constraints.Aiming to conserve and intensively utilize existing land resources,focusing on the redevelopment of urban underutilized land to enhance land use efficiency and explore innovative utilization models is not only a practical necessity to alleviate the current contradiction between land supply and demand,but also an inevitable requirement for promoting high-quality socio-economic development.This article explores the definition and identification of urban underutilized land,clarifies the interdependent relationships in its redevelopment,systematically summarizes the primary development models driven by leading forces,and thoroughly analyzes the challenges and issues faced in practical redevelopment and utilization.Furthermore,recommendations for redeveloping urban underutilized land are then proposed from the following aspects:clarifying the connotation of urban underutilized land,increasing investment and financial support,promoting land consolidation,strengthening interdepartmental coordination,and enhancing digital and intelligent empowerment.
