To summarize Professor Ruan Shiwei's clinical experience in treating Diabetic Kidney Disease(DKD)based on"Homogeny of liver and kidney"theory.By organizing and analyzing Professor Ruan's medication practices for DKD,this paper introduces his clinical approach from three dimensions:theoretical basis,disease nomenclature,pathogenesis,and clinical medication experience.A case study is included to support these findings.Professor Ruan believes that DKD is closely related to both the liver and kidneys.Grounded in"Homogeny of liver and kidney"theory and considering the pathogenesis of DKD characterized by"Root Deficiency with Secondary Excess,intermingled deficiency and excess"treatment centers on liver-kidney deficiency.A phased,treatment based on syndrome differentiation is adopted.Early stage:"Nourishing Yin for moistening dryness,and protecing kidney collaterals";Middle stage:"Replenishing essence and nourishing blood,resolveing stasis and unblocking collaterals";And in the late stage:"Suppressing hyperactive liver and subsiding Yang,nourishing water to sustain wood".Proteinuria,being the core clinical manifestation,is addressed by"Interdependence between storing and discharging,consolidating and retaining essence".Professor Ruan's treatment of DKD adheres closely to the principle of simultaneous liver-kidney regulation,reinforcement and elimination in combi-nation to correct imbalances and restore equilibrium,yielding significant therapeutic effects.His experience offers new insights for clinical practice and warrants wider application.
