Taking an industrial air separation unit as the research object,the paper systemati-cally analyzes the causes of a high oxygen venting rate and formulates targeted improvement mea-sures.The research indicates that oxygen venting primarily stems from factors such as the mismatch between continuous air separation production and intermittent oxygen consumption by users,diffi-culties in predicting oxygen demand for steelmaking,impacts from blast furnace maintenance,and fluctuations in oxygen enrichment for hot rolling.By implementing measures including establishing a production plan database for steelmaking converters,optimizing air separation unit operation strate-gies,and rationally utilizing liquid oxygen reserves,a precise balance between oxygen production and consumption was achieved.Following the implementation of the revamp project,the oxygen venting rate decreased significantly,leading to a substantial annual economic benefit improvement.
