中国本草史研究的多维向度OA

The specialized thematic studies on history of Medicine in China covers a wide range of subfields.Among them,the history of Chinese materia medica has yielded abundant research achievements.However,for a long time,studies have been largely confined within the discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),dominated by the paradigms of textual research and pharmaceutical philology.With relatively limited research perspectives and insufficient interdisciplinary dialogue,the further expansion of its academic influence has been restricted.On the basis of reviewing traditional research paradigms,this paper proposes three promising new directions.First,the theoretical dimension,focusing on the transformation of materia medica knowledge from"medicine and pharmacy"to"natural studies"and its significance in the history of knowledge.Second,the visual dimension,taking materia medica illustrations as independent research objects and communicative evidence to explore their value in"using images to verify history".Third,the cultural dimension,placing materia medica in the context of medical,social and cultural history in the Ming and Qing dynasties,and examining it as a"material object"to reveal its implications for society,politics and cultural exchange.Promoting the development of history of materia medica toward historical,cultural and interdisciplinary approaches will not only inject new vitality into this field,but also provide a unique perspective for understanding the evolution of traditional Chinese knowledge systems and the history of Sino-foreign cultural exchanges,thus possessing important academic and practical significance.
