The Linguistic Landscape of Urban Advertising Signage and the Language Life It Reflects:A Case Study of Xuzhou City

广告招牌不仅承担着商业信息传递功能,也承载着地方文化、反映社会心理,是城市语言景观的重要组成部分.本研究选取徐州铜山万达、1818 夜市、富国街以及户部山周边的广告招牌作为样本,围绕语音、词汇、语法三类要素梳理了广告招牌的语言景观特征,结合徐州地域文化背景,分析这类招牌与当地语言生活之间的内在关联.研究结果显示,徐州广告招牌语言景观既保留了深厚的历史文化底蕴,也展现了经济发展与现代化进程中的语言创新与语码混用现象,显著反映出徐州作为汉文化历史名城与淮海经济区中心城市的语言生态丰富性.结合近几年徐州经济的规划和发展情况,徐州广告招牌中的语言景观对促进商业繁荣、经济格局分区以及城市形象建设等都具有重要意义.

As a vital component of the urban linguistic landscape,advertising signage fulfils the function of conveying commercial information and serves as a significant carrier of local culture and social psychology.This study examines advertising signage in four areas of Xuzhou—Tongshan Wanda Plaza,1818 Night Market,Fuguo Street and the vicinity of Hubu Mountain—analyzing the characteristics of the linguistic landscape from phonological,lexical and syntactic perspectives.The study also explores the intrinsic connections between these characteristics and Xuzhou's language life in the context of its regional cultural background.The findings suggest that Xuzhou's advertising signage preserves profound historical and cultural heritage,while also reflecting linguistic innovation and code-mixing phenomena driven by economic development and modernization.This demonstrates the linguistic ecological diversity of Xuzhou,a city with a rich historical and cultural heritage and a central regional hub.Given Xuzhou's recent economic planning and development,the linguistic landscape of its advertising signage is highly significant for commercial prosperity,delineating economic zones and shaping the city's image.
