《潜书》引孟的文献策略与明清易代之际的孟学复兴OACHSSCD
The Literary Strategy of Citing Mencius in Qian Shu and the Revival of Mencius Studies during the Ming-Qing Transition
《孟子》是《潜书》援引最多的经书之一,除《尊孟》《宗孟》两篇直接推尊孟子思想,阐扬孟学精神外,还以民本思想和仁政学说为基础,从人性论、道德论和抑尊说三个方面阐发了孟子思想.这不仅体现了唐甄个人对孟子的推崇,也见证了明末知识分子价值观的变迁,更反映出明末士人群体试图通过学术实现政治升格的诉求.而《孟子》之所以成为这一诉求的最强劲理论工具,其原因在于孟子高于权力的价值优越感符合明清易代之际知识分子的价值观,孟子打破上下尊卑的传统秩序的主张符合明清易代之际知识分子要求平等对话权力的期待,孟子创造的诸理念确立了其规训权力的社会地位,为明清易代之际思想家们的政治权能诉求提供了理论基础.
The Mencius is one of the most frequently cited classics in Tang Zhen's Qian Shu.Besides the two chapters,"Respecting Mencius"and"Adoring Mencius",which directly extol Mencius'thoughts and promote the spirit of Mencianism,it also elaborates onMencius'ideas from three aspects:the theory of human nature,moral theory,and the theory ofsuppression and respect,based on the people-oriented ideology and the theory of benevolent governance.This not only reflects Tang Zhen's personal admiration for Mencius but also witnesses the transformation of the values of intellectuals at the end of the Ming Dynasty.Moreover,it reflects the attempt of the intellectual group at the end of the Ming Dynasty to achieve political elevation through academic means.The reason why the Mencius became the most powerful theoretical tool for this demand is that Mencius'sense of value superiority over power conforms to the values of intellectuals at the time of the transition from the Ming to the Qing Dynasties,Mencius'proposition of breaking the traditional order of superiority and inferiority between the upper and lower classes conforms to the expectations of intellectuals at that time for equal dialogue with power,and the various concepts created by Mencius established his social status as a regulator of power,providing a theoretical basis for the political power demands of thinkers at the end of the Ming Dynasty.
