The impact of resource scarcity on filial consumption behavior of adult children
随着中国步入老龄化社会市场上面向老年人的产品与日俱增,但这些产品的大部分购买者是成年子女而非老年人自己.成年子女为表达孝心而进行的消费已经非常普遍.然而,营销领域对中国成年子女孝心消费行为的系统研究却非常匮乏.本文从资源稀缺视角切入,通过三个研究系统探究时间稀缺、金钱稀缺对成年子女孝心消费行为的影响.其中,研究 1 探究成年子女时间稀缺、金钱稀缺下的不同孝心取向及形成过程.在研究 1 的基础上,研究 2 和研究 3 分别探究时间稀缺、金钱稀缺对成年子女孝心消费决策和偏好的影响.本文的研究成果有助于推进中国孝道文化背景下成年子女的孝心消费行为研究,并对银发经济中企业营销策略的制定有重要实践启示.
As China enters an aging society,products targeting seniors are proliferating in the market.However,the majority of these products are purchased by adult children rather than the elderly themselves.Filial consumption driven by adult children's devotion to their parents has become widespread.Yet,systematic research on this phenomenon within the field of marketing remains scarce.This paper adopts a resource scarcity perspective,grounded in filial piety theory and scarcity theory,to systematically examine the effects of time scarcity and money scarcity on filial consumption behavior through three studies.Study 1 investigates the different filial orientations and their formation processes among adult children experiencing time scarcity and money scarcity.Building upon Study 1,Study 2 further examines the impact of time scarcity on filial consumption decisions and preferences among adult children,while Study 3 investigates the influence of money scarcity on these decisions and preferences.The findings of this study will contribute to advancing research on filial consumption behaviors among adult children within the context of Chinese filial piety culture and will provide important practical implications for formulating corporate marketing strategies in the silver economy.
