The impact of autonomous sensory meridian response on cognitive control and its cognitive neural basis

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response(ASMR),as a unique sensory experience induced by specific audio-visual triggers, provides a unique lens through which to examine how the human brain processes external emotional stimuli.Existing research indicates that the induction of ASMR temporarily suppresses an individual's cognitive control functions. However,it remains unclear whether this effect is state-or trait-dependent,at which specific stage of cognitive control it operates, and what its underlying cognitive neural bases are.To address this, the present research investigates the mechanisms underlying the emergence and development of ASMR from two perspectives:adolescent mental development and dynamic neural processing. The findings will not only provide new evidence for understanding the cognitive control processes involved in the brain's response to emotional stimuli and enrich knowledge regarding the development of cognitive control in adolescents, but also offer theoretical guidance for promoting mental health in adolescents with atypical emotional responses and for the clinical application of ASMR.
